Dear Members.
We are delighted to invite you to Dinner with The Secretary of State for Education- Rt Hon Nadhim Zahawi MP on Friday 12 November at 7pm, at Howard Hall, Bocking End Braintree CM7 9AA.
We are particularly excited to welcome this extremely successful Minister of our Government to Braintree and are very grateful that James Cleverly MP has managed to secure time in Nadhim’s very busy diary. First elected to the Stratford on Avon Constituency in 2010, following a distinguished career in Business, Nadhim has recently served in Government in the Ministry of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy combining that role with Ministerial responsibilities for vaccine rollout. Therefore, a great recent record of success and we look forward to an extremely interesting speaker and enjoyable evening, hearing how we educate and reskill in this period of post pandemic recovery.
This will be the first ‘in person’ Association event since the end of 2019 and will be an Association Supper with a slight difference. On arrival at 7pm, guests will receive a glass of fizz and canapés and will be able to mingle with both James and Nadhim. We will then sit down to a two-course dinner with coffee with an address from our guest speaker. There will also be an auction and raffle. The cost of the ticket will be £47.50. Dress is lounge suits.
The Howard Hall is a roomy venue with high ceilings and lends itself to a slightly less crowded environment than some other venues, which is welcome as we continue to emerge from the pandemic. There is very good parking at Howard Hall.
Advertising and sponsorship opportunities, are available and if you have a company that would like to offer sponsorship at a very reasonable rate, please do let Karen in the office know, either through this email or on 01376 512386. There will be provision for space on a programme and/or through your own display banners.
We do hope you will take the opportunity to join us on the 12th November for a fascinating evening and to enjoy the company of other Conservative friends following very difficult times. Why not try to get a table together? Last year was a very successful but expensive Essex County Council Election and it was very difficult to fundraise. The work to rebuild our finances to fight a General Election sometime before the end of 2024 and a big programme of local elections in 2023 has begun in earnest and your support will be invaluable.
Please fill in the Booking form to confirm your place early.
Thank you in advance and we look forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes
Cllr Mary Cunningham
Deputy Chairman: Membership and Fundraising.
